Football (Soccer) stars and their NBA counterparts!
Football (soccer) and basketball are two of the most popular sports in the world. There is a HUGE following for both sports and they share many similarities. One of the similarities is star players. I wanted to take a closer look at some stars from the world of footie and compare them to the stars of the NBA.
Is Lionel Messi the LeBron James of footie?
Nope!
First on the list we have Daniel Sturridge and JR Smith.
Both guys have never seen a shot they haven’t liked. They make many selfish decisions and seem to only care about themselves. They do score in bunches but are heavily criticized for lack of teamwork. They both also have funny dances.
JR Smith Dance
Andrea Pirlo and Ray Allen.
Widely considered two of the classiest guys in their respected sports despite having played for rival teams. Pirlo and Ray Allen are masters of the long distance shot. Give them room and you can expect the ball in the back of the net.
David Luiz and Joakim Noah.
Obviously both guys have awesome hair! They are very similar in the fact that they are loved by their home fans and hated by opposing fans. They bring energy and passion to the team. They love getting under the skin of the opponents and even the fans .
Luiz smiling at Manchester United fans after getting fouled.
Joakim clapping at Bosh and Chalmers as they argue with each other.
Neymar and Kyrie Irvin
Two of the best young players in the world. Neymar has the hopes of a nation riding on his shoulders and has to live up to all the greats of Brazil. Kyrie is fixing the broken hearts in Cleveland and has to live up to LeBron Jame’s legacy. Both guys can break your ankles and make you look silly! Make sure to watch these two videos!
How do your ankles feel?
Mute the music and enjoy Neymar shattering dreams.
Robin Van Persie and Carmelo Anthony
These guys just score, plain and simple. Arguably the best scorers in the world! RVP and Melo really step up when the team needs them too! Clutch! Both can be considered traitors as RVP left his “childhood” club Arsenal, and Melo forced Denver to trade him to New York.
Wayne Rooney and Kobe Bryant
Both guys have been the cornerstone of their teams for years. They have had a ton of individual/team success under legendary coaches. Both are very competitive and want to be remembered as all time greats. Both have also requested to leave their teams in the past.
Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James
The most dominate, athletic freaks in the game. These two change the game with their pace, strength and jumping ability. Adored by many and hated by more! LeBron and Ronaldo get a bad rep for being arrogant and cocky. They also flop/dive a little too easily.
“I swear the ghost pushed me”
I can see LeBron being a Hollywood star someday.
Lionel Messi and Kevin Durant
Young, humble, hungry, and destined for greatness! Durant and Messi are very similar in their mentality to want to be remembered as the greatest of all-time. Messi has accomplished more than Durant but you can tell both are destined to become legends.
Obviously there is a slight size difference between the two.
